Electronic health records opening up opportunities

When Secretary of Health and Human services Mike Leavitt announced here last month that our region had been selected as one of the four sites for Medicare’s impending electronic health record demonstration project, it was a huge coup for the local sponsor, the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative, and a reinforcement that Pittsburgh is a national center of health care innovation.
