Medicare panel advises coverage for STD tests, counseling
The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is proposing that Medicare soon cover screenings for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and hepatitis B, as well as “high intensity behavioral counseling,” for sexually active at-risk seniors, pregnant women and others covered by the government insurance program.
